LEED Buildings in Bakersfield

Did you know that there are currently 10 buildings in Bakersfield registered as LEED Certified in the U.S. Green Building Council database? LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council as a voluntary, consensus-based national rating system for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures. Buildings are evaluated within five environmental categories: sustainable site development, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. Buildings are then certified as achieving Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum levels, based on total credits earned.
